BBQ at Quarantine Island.
--
It seems that this area was used to isolate the patients sick with tuberculosis some time ago. For the past twenty-something years artists have settled in the houses of this magical spot in Rotterdam, where you can find, to my surprise, this little beach that is open from 10h to 22h. It's quite a well kept secret, I can't believe I found this out after over two years of living here!

Dr. Aubrey de Grey.
I recommend this Channel 4 documentary about Dr. Aubrey de Grey who is fighting to find a way to immortality.People with such strong passions fascinate me.
Inside and out.
On Phil's last day in Rotterdam we went to Chez Mo-i for lunch. They have a cute little back garden and serve yummy, healthy food. I had a goat's cheese sandwich with apple sirup, pine nuts and ruccula and Phil had quiche with salad. You can also get delicious (and pricy) bread. The garden became a bit too warm for us so we stepped inside for desert (OMG-brownie and lemon cake).
The inside is beautiful, spacy with really nice choice of furniture and the details are well taken care of. They also have an open kitchen, which I always find nice. And the owner is super stylish and always wears bright red lipstick.

Schiermonnikoog.
---
The next stop was Schiermonnikoog, where Jannetje's sis was getting married. I was asked to take the photos of the wedding parties and Phil came along. He was great company and support. We got to see a bit of the island after the party.
Oops.
I took her to this secret little garden in Sant Just Desvern, where my parents live. Three course meal for ten euros!
I should also ad Janneke was a super pleasant travelling companion, hopefully more trips are to be done together!
