Phil's parents and grandparents came over to visit last week. They stayed in one of Rotterdam's skyscrapers, which made the stay quite a unique experience. Rotterdam seen from above is impressive!

Weekend in Brussels.

One of the (many) perks of living in The Netherlands is having so many lovely cities nearby for weekend trips. Phil and I spent last weekend in Brussels. I hadn't been there since I was a young teenager with my parents. so everything was quite new to me (except a few de ja vu moments that must have been due to my visit as a youngster). We did a pretty good job and getting around thanks to Phil's wonderful orientation skills. The city is special and has a very nice vibe. I want to go back to see the rest of it some time. 

This was the first stop the train made in Belgium. I liked the colour palette of these waiting people.

The Cure in 1990.

It was 1990, I was watching MTV and was 9 years old. And this song would come on with this hypnotizing video. My childmind truly believed the group were thrown off a cliff in a wardrobe and that this video was filmed underwater. And that a comb could be played like that (I remember trying it and not understanding what I was doing wrong when it didn't work).

Check out that octopus. Mighty Boosh got some inspiration from this, I think! (Tony Harrrison!)

Last night we watched this documentary about the strange and incredible story of a man who unawarely became a superstar. Today, with the internet, this kind of story can't happen, which is probably a good thing... I guess. 

Six pack cycle tour 2013.

Lawrence organized another six pack cycle tour for the second year running, which consists of finding six special locations in Rotterdam worth having a can of beer in.
