She knows where everything is.

Where are your coloured pencils?
In a tin.

Where's the sugar?
In the sugarbowl.

Where's the can opener?
On top.

Where's my jacket?
Wherever you left it.

Where do you keep the butter?
In the fridge.

I love my Mamita.

Slush.

Ok, so I've seen the snow for a few days now. Beautiful. It's welcome to melt now, thanks.

White Rotterdam.

Heemraadsingel transformed.

Looks like this snow woman is in pain, poor thing.

I like her style.

I want everything she's wearing, basically. Except for the big brown bag.
More here.

Tot ziens, Amsterdam.

The last coffee we had in Al Ponte, great little café in the Amsterdam Noord. Perfect for making the wait for the ferry feel like it's not one. Their motto: "Fight bad coffee, not other people."

And of course there had to be at least one photo of a canal in the blog while I was living in Amsterdam. Lovely city, wrong timing.

Small World, big yum.

Sascha recommended this great Australian sandwich bar that made Lucy proud of her nation. It's on Buiten Oranjestraat, coming from Haarlemmerdijk on the first corner on the right. It's called Small World.

Screen printing "Things I want to share with you".

Trying to get the perfect colour. Difficult task.
My teacher Christina Hallström and the lighting machine.
If Lucy was a colour, this is what she would be.
Prepairing the screns.

Here we go!

Finished at last! Now I only have to have them cut and folded. I'm binding all 200 of them myself.
-------

For a long time, I've been wanting to get a clearer idea of screen printing. The only way to do that is to roll your sleeves up and start doing it yourself. I had to think of something to screen print. I had started a series of collages for Phil, messily but lovingly bound together. I scanned them (actually my kind flatmate Sascha did) and then"translated" the images into 2 colours and did a few modifications. That's what turned into my screen printing project.

Lucy helped me so much throughout the screen printing process. It was very handy to have somebody there to double check every action... and to spot and stop stupid mistakes. It's been a lovely three days, I've learned so much. Hopefully there will be no nasty surprises with the cutting, though I did get told off for being a bit sloppy about the positioning of the images on the paper. Oh well, you learn from these things.

I did this project at AGA, where you can pay a daily, weekly or monthly fee to use their fantastic installations. Oh how I do really like The Netherlands.

I'll upload images of the bound book when they're done. I'll also write what to do if you want to buy your limited edition copy of it!

Magic little moment.

Proef.

Perfect shot: rum followed a swig of pear juice.

Pling plog version of "The Chapel of Love" by Lucy.

It was Lucy's last day at Proef yesterday. She's worked there for the last 3 months. Her work and positive energy there have been very much valued. They gave her the "El Bulli" book as a goodbye present. I might be tasting some of Ferran Adrià's dishes soon!
