When friends come to the rescue.

Thanks to a big bunch of friends in Rotterdam and abroad, we were able to gather 651 euros to help Phil replace his stolen computer and bike. I was overwhelmed by people's fast reactions, within 3 days we had gathered that generous amount!

Thank you so much to everyone who helped make this happen. It surpassed my expectations. Also thank you for the good vibes and funky moves, it was a great party!

Waiting for Phil. (Photo by Jannetje)

Drunk and happy. Jonas was in charge of getting the design of the giant cheque onto this big cardboard. By the looks of this photo he was quite pleased with the result. Did it taste good, Jonas?

Money does not bring happiness.

Conxa, let go of the cheque.

I never want to lose my ability of astonishment.

Exhaustion.

A bit over 1 km away from the finish line.

My 5th Rotterversary.

Things have been a bit quiet around here. The incident with my analogue camera brought my motivation down a bit to take photos so often. But I think my motivation is up and running again. Talking about running… yesterday was Rotterdam's famous marathon which for me is an even more special day because it's my Rotterversary! This time 5 years ago (gulp!) I had just landed in The Netherlands and had no idea what Avondwinkel meant. My friend Sander invited me to his and Jurgen's initiative "You Run We Banana!" to motivate runners and give them a bit of an energy boost. We did it again this year and it was sort of a flashback to when I had just arrived.

Who would have said that this place still is my home today. I'm so grateful for what has happened since then, the lovely people I've met on the way and the eye opening experiences I've had that have helped make my mind a better, healthier place.

Gisella and fast growing Bob.

The Maximizer Number 1: Sander!

Look at Bob's little pouty lip. Just look at it.

Dre looking sophisticated.

Gathering sponges.

Something tells me she wasn't very interested in the marathon.

Jurgen going bananas.

Taking exhaustion with a sense of humour.

I was impressed at people that managed to keep their accessories (and smiles) on after running 40km.

You run and you're a banana.
