While I was working in York library I was surrounded by a load of books about Yorkshire. I picked this book out randomly one day and I had a pleasant surprise when I opened it. I scanned these images but couldn't upload them onto the blog because of the safety limitations they had on the internet connection. So here you have them now. I think they're beautiful. I would like to do something with them. Click on them for a slightly bigger view. I have all of them in full resolution if you would like any of them.

W.O.N.S. project in progress.

This photo was taken some days ago by Fernando. We had a photoshoot to take photos of ourselves for the "Wel oud, niet seniel" project. The site is being programmed as I write, I can't wait to see it online!

I find Gere fitted the role pretty well.

Meryl Streep turned down the role because she didn't like the tone of the film. I think that was a wise decision. I can't picture Meryl playing a part as a desperate, lonely, horny and rich housewife.

Highlights of the weekend with Leti and Anna.

My favourite veggie and fruit shop, Güvenay Manavi.
Another delicious Jamie Oliver recipe: shrimp curry with cucumber salad (dressed with lime, soja sauce, chili and such).

Feeling happy with the 500€ worth bikes we rented to the meanest man in Rotterdam. I wonder why such expensive bikes are rented out.

Thanks to Dre and Janneke we got in for free! Shame about the choice of the movie...
Filling in every single gap to talk. A lot of catching up needed to be done.

The following morning Leti's 500€ rented bike had been stolen. We thought that if we gave the report from the police in and the bike key back (to prove that we had locked it) at the rent-a-bike everything would be fine. It's a shame they don't explain clearly what the conditions are before renting these bikes. The deposit of 50€ was not returned to us (even though the owner of the shop will get the insurance money back for the stolen bike thanks to our police report), Anna's bike was taken away from her by the meanest man in Rotterdam (who works in the rent-a-bike behind the station), we weren't allowed to rent another bike AND the meanest man in Rotterdam charged us an extra day for Anna's bike with no logical explanation. He would not listen to our complaints so we called the police who were kind but there was nothing they could do. We left feeling cheated on and offended by such a rude man.

Leti and Anna were over for a few days and all we needed was ourselves to keep each other entertained. I feel lucky with such nice friends, gracias nenis por venir!
