Trying to get the perfect colour. Difficult task.

My teacher Christina Hallström and the lighting machine.

If Lucy was a colour, this is what she would be.

Prepairing the screns.

Here we go!

Finished at last! Now I only have to have them cut and folded. I'm binding all 200 of them myself.
-------
For a long time, I've been wanting to get a clearer idea of screen printing. The only way to do that is to roll your sleeves up and start doing it yourself. I had to think of something to screen print. I had started a series of collages for Phil, messily but lovingly
bound together. I scanned them (actually my kind flatmate Sascha did) and then"translated" the images into 2 colours and did a few modifications. That's what turned into my screen printing project.
Lucy helped me so much throughout the screen printing process. It was very handy to have somebody there to double check every action... and to spot and stop stupid mistakes. It's been a lovely three days, I've learned so much. Hopefully there will be no nasty surprises with the cutting, though I did get told off for being a bit sloppy about the positioning of the images on the paper. Oh well, you learn from these things.
I did this project at
AGA, where you can pay a daily, weekly or monthly fee to use their fantastic installations. Oh how I do really like The Netherlands.
I'll upload images of the
bound book when they're done. I'll also write what to do if you want to buy your limited edition copy of it!
