Potluck dinner.

Fotini, Panos, Lawrence and Ori came over for dinner. Everybody brought a different dish, delicious food and plenty of it! The dishes were:
Grilled aubergine with feta and tomato sauce done by Fotini and Panos.
Cauliflower and chick-pea salad (thanks for the recipe, Jannetje!)
Roquefort and mushroom quiche by Ori.
Yoghurt and fruits of the forest brought by Lawrence.
And Prosecco!

Following the German tradition for housewarming, Ori brought bread and salt. The ritual comes from many years ago when salt and bread were two of the most important foods/ingredients in the world. Salt preserves food and bread gives strength. So salt and bread denote protection-preservation of body and soul and the guest blesses the new household with wealth, fecundity and health by giving them to the host.
