The importance of spreading good vibes.

I watched this group live last night. Goosebumps.

That scene in Silence of the Lambs.

I couldn't help feeling some empathy for the killer for liking this song and dancing to it like he does.

A day in Whitby.

English seaguls aren't as scary as Dutch ones.
Choppy sea and my glove getting in the way.
The Procters.
Lost little dog looking worried. The owner found him seconds after I took this photo.
Beautiful town where the book Dracula was written by Bram Stoker.
Upset dogs.

We love to gamble.

I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.
Trips that give you pleasure.
Clara's.

These are the photos from the second disposable camera I got in York. Phil's parents took us to Whitby for the day. I didn't take any pictures of us eating the best fish and chips I've ever had. The day was cold and windy, but I loved seeing the English seaside and this beautiful town. Thank you Michelle and Mick!

Coo-chi-coo.

A sudden blog, by Erola Boix.

This drawing really made me chuckle.

The days in York flew by.

On our way to work.
I will protect you from the evil birds.
Pretend I'm not photographing you.
They heard the click of the camera.

Don't pull a funny face, we can't repeat this photo.

The new studio!
Will's tidy little boxes and motivation sign.
I'm rubbish at this.
Cow's head wasn't meant to be cut off, sorry Cow.
Let's try using this bottle as a colour filter.
Working hard.
Cumulus?
I never learned how to open that door.
A lovely walk.
A lovely man.
I thought this would look great.
Drowning sign.

These are the photos of one of the disposable cameras I bought after my camera broke. I'm very pleased with the results, I love that tone they all have that you can't get with digital photos (or at least I don't know how to get).

More to come!

Freshly painted walls!

Check out the winter grey walls at the studio! I get to enjoy them in good company today!

Skyping with Floyd.

No, he's not a red head.

Experiment.

No good news about my camera getting repaired, so you'll have to make do with watching a bubble freeze instead.

Phil was puppysitting.

Phil's sister got a puppy, Pepper. It's hard to handle so much cuteness on skype...

Nucky gets ready for Halloween.

This was my favourite image of the series Boardwalk Empire. If you haven't seen it yet, you should!

Fed Agent Nelson Van Alden vs. Fred.

The actor Michael Shannon plays the part of the twisted, troubled Fed Agent in Boardwalk Empire. He gave me the chills all through the series. So suddenly seeing him as this sweet teenager in Groundhog Day made his character in the movie implausible for me.

Making our tastebuds happy.

I'm back in Rotterdam! So to celebrate we got together at Cristina's and Joan's to cook a delicious meal together following one of Jamie Oliver's 30 minute recipes that I got for Christmas from Helen. It took quite a bit of coordinating to get it right. Again, I made the mistake of not reading the whole recipe before starting to cook, but the consequences weren't too bad. We made a good team!

The result was the most delicious satay chicken I've ever had, wrapped in lettuce with fresh egg noodles seasoned with red onion, chili, coriander, soy sauce, fish sauce (thanks Luce!), lime zest and its juice and cashew nuts. YUM!

The desert that followed was perfect and fresh: pineapple with red fruits sprinkled with brown sugar, lime and mint.

(Photos of my days in York are yet to be developed. Joan and Cris lent me their camera to take these, I miss my precious so much...)

Recipe for the satay sauce:
1/2 a small bunch of fresh coriander
1 fresh red chilli
1/2 a clove of garlic
3 heaped tablespoons good quality crunchy peanut butter
soy sauce
a 2 cm piece of fresh giver
2 limes

Put the coriander (stalks and all) into the food processor (I used one of these) with the chilli (stalk removed), peeled garlic, 3 heaped tablespoons of peanut butter and a lug of soy sauce. Peel and roughly chop the ginger and add. Finely grate in the zest of both limes, then squeeze in the juice from 1 of them. Add a couple of splashes of water and whiz to a spoonable paste. Season to taste.

Enjoy!
