The Math Maker.

Jan's cat right on the top of the chair Jan designed and built himself.
Gezellig.
Puzzles to be solved by others.
Jan's new game. Still not available in the stores.
His kitchen. He made us tea.
Phil listened carefully to Jan's tips about working with concrete.
One of my favourite chairs, usually in wood, but this time in steel.
Jan had an amazing garden that connected to a public one that he had worked on himself (with a subsidy the Gemeente gave him. How cool is that?) Many of his creations are to be found there.
He even sang to us!

In this bird house he had placed a camera to be able to watch the birds eat from his home, on a screen.

Phil and I went to visit Jan De Koning on Saturday. He very kindly opened the doors to his workshop (which is also his house) and showed us his newest inventions, also his oldest ones. It was amazing to see how passionate he is about what he does. I like it when people talk about what they do in a way that sounds like the rest of the world knows all about the matter too. Words such as icosidodecahedron and tetrahedron are in Jan's day to day language.

His creations are both beautiful and so clever. He must have an amazing sense of 3d to make these games and puzzles.

You can buy things straight off him or in Arabesk.
