Good morning!

Hurray!

We're in the finals! Next Sunday couldn't get more exciting! (I can't recognise myself with all this football fanatism.)

Hup Holland Hup! (Jurgen's photos)

The atmosphere on the street yesterday was amazing! Everybody was so happy about the victory of Holland against Brazil. I'm not into football at all, but so much excitement was contagious. Well done, Holland! Hup Holland Hup!

(My camera's battery was dead but luckily Jurgen had his camera with him and took these great photos.)

Super proud.

My super friend Bego has had her awesome illustration published for the cover of this week's lecool in Lisbon. Felicidades, Begleeeets!

Lace is in again.

A few more examples of lace here:
One
Two
Three (looks amazing on Kate Moss, of course. Don't know how it would look on normal people. Still, it's beautiful.)
Four (coolest example. Super stylish Bego.)

BBQ at Quarantine Island.

Quarantine Beach! It turns out there is one in Rotterdam!
"Asian BBQ" made us supper. Yum!

The floor was covered in this magical white fluff that stuck into everybody's hair making us all look a bit silly.
Spots of light all over us.

It seems that this area was used to isolate the patients sick with tuberculosis some time ago. For the past twenty-something years artists have settled in the houses of this magical spot in Rotterdam, where you can find, to my surprise, this little beach that is open from 10h to 22h. It's quite a well kept secret, I can't believe I found this out after over two years of living here!

Dr. Aubrey de Grey.

I recommend this Channel 4 documentary about Dr. Aubrey de Grey who is fighting to find a way to immortality.

People with such strong passions fascinate me.

Inside and out.

On Phil's last day in Rotterdam we went to Chez Mo-i for lunch. They have a cute little back garden and serve yummy, healthy food. I had a goat's cheese sandwich with apple sirup, pine nuts and ruccula and Phil had quiche with salad. You can also get delicious (and pricy) bread. The garden became a bit too warm for us so we stepped inside for desert (OMG-brownie and lemon cake).

The inside is beautiful, spacy with really nice choice of furniture and the details are well taken care of. They also have an open kitchen, which I always find nice. And the owner is super stylish and always wears bright red lipstick.
