Museum Night.

This year's theme for Museum night was: Tears. So galleries and museum made the most of this theme to express their disappointment about the funding cuts in the cultural sector.

Rachel Griffin stands next to her "Trade Union" vessels at Christian Ouwens gallery.

I enjoyed this Dutch reggae group. Unfortunately I didn't catch their name.

This group of ladies sand typical Rotterdam songs. One of my favorite parts of the night.

I always wonder why tissue packaging isn't nicer. I would be happy to own a pack like this.

The Icelandic constitution was read out loud at TENT.

Free haircuts at the Boijmans!

Bram is part of The Jumping Flea band and they had a little show on at Rotterdam Museum, that unfortunately is closing due to lack of funds. Their show was called Bottle of Tears. I found the chosen tunes created an atmosphere that fit in so well with the sad closing of the museum.

I enjoyed the Handmade exhibition at the Boijmans van Beuningen museum. These were my favorite pieces. I should learn some embroidery skills.

Laser cut screen with traditional German themes.

Yes, I should really learn this skill.

Reference to Bande à part?

Evening walk.

The Witte Huis (White House) was the first skyscraper in The Netherlands. 43 m high, 10 floors. Built in 1898, it was the tallest building in Europe at that time.

Ari's birthday.

Hector organized a wonderful birthday party for Ari, exchanging a website done by him for a delicious meal at Van de Boer for a bunch of us. We continued the night at Ooievaar, where big pop tunes were enjoyed and ended up at our place dancing the night away. Quite a memorable evening.

Tamborine man takes his job seriously.

Happy and in love.

Things heating up at the Ooievaar.

Dancing until collapsing.

100 years of Pastoe.

We attended the opening of the exhibition celebrating Pastoe's 100th anniversary. Pastoe is a Dutch furniture brand and has acquired an excellent circle of designers including Maarten Van Severen, Shigeru Uchida and Scholten & Baijings. Source here

I specially liked the photographs of the furniture being used. Unfortunately we got a bit carried away by the free champagne and didn't have much time to see the show. So I will be going back and checking out the Jean Paul Gaultier exhibition also at the Kunsthal.

You're a bunch of product designers.

Dentist's window.

For some reason, cacti combined with false teeth was a good way to promote this dentist's services. At least in his or her eyes. In my eyes too.

Gilles Peterson at BIRD - Rotterdam.

Off we go.

Special guests all the way from the UK! Come back soon, it was too short!

Shakin' it!

Go, Marijke!

Go, Jonas!

This is what Gilles Peterson got offered at the end of his session. All he did was dip his finger in it to try it. Come on guys, you could have done better than this...

Thank you, Phil, for this treat! The night was thoroughly enjoyed!
