Stock images and the special place they have in my heart.

It's such a pleasure to have to work with stock images, it makes my imagination run wild.

Highlights of the past few days.

Having a broken bike has made me rediscover Rotterdam's metro.
Mesh Print Club at NS-Station Blaak with a beautiful selection of screenprints.
Sandra's David Bowie eyes.
Who said Rotterdam isn't classy?
Rotterdam and its constant changes.
The biggest tortilla I've ever made (6 eggs!).
I'm the happy owner of this beautiful drawing by Masha Krasnova-Shabaevea. It is finally framed and hung on my wall (next to my super nice golden bunnies sent to me from Berlin!). Take a closer look at it here.
Why not run the marathon in a hot dog suit?
You run, we banana!
Watching Patrick levitate.
Super original photo that no one has ever, ever taken before.
Old friends in deep conversation.
It's BBQ season at last!
It's always nice to see paint being poured.
New postcards on their way!

Fresh from the printer.

I designed these little booklets for Phil to network during the Milan Design Furniture Fair. Click here to see more pages and his lovely designs: www.rachelsender.com/booklet

Special thanks to Jannetje in t' Veld for her help and advice.

Kia's shoes.

Designed by Rem D. Koolhaas (he’s the nephew of the famous architect), sold at UN (United Nude).

Singelpostcards.

I'm screenprinting some postcards that will be for sale at the Singeldingen kiosk. The opening is on the 18th of May.

My teacher criticised my fine lines and small, detailed work for screenprinting, but small and thin is my fixation at the moment.

Suddenly blue.

There always comes a day when everyone around you is wearing blue. I don't know what Ljubo is doing here.

Sand on the doorstep.

It's easy to forget we're on sea level while living in a city in The Netherlands. But then there comes a day when the pavement has to be renewed, and so, for a while you see the original ground beneath the cement. And it's sand and shells. So out come the kids to build sandcastles at my doorstep.

And then I found the photo filter in my camera.

Conxa and I headed back before the rest of the group and found this farm. We asked if we could go in to have a look.
Baby sheep (and cows) everywhere!
Stretching its back legs.
Conxa had never touched a cow before (to my amazement). This was her very first cow hand lick.
Hello, little one.

I bet that was a pleasant dream.
They all wanted a bit of attention.

21 degrees are not meant to be spent indoors.

Here I am pretending to have a race bike. It belongs to Gerard really but he let me pose with it.
Sun and warmth, come to me! You have been missed!
We're ready to go!
You're supposed to ride the bike, but this can also be an option.

At first I thought this was some type of sculpture installation.
Joan and his beatiful bike admiring the view.
Look at us all! Bumpy roads. My bike did not like this one at all.
Trying out Conxa's race bike, getting jealous.
Some interesting houses on the way. The architects of the group didn't like them. I thought they were quite nice.
A bit of downhill is appreciated.

Javi found us along the way. I was very impressed by his orientation skills.
Lunch break.

Devirginizing my new camera.

This is the very first photo taken with my new camera, the Olympus XZ-1. Conxa and I bumped into Aline and Marieke who shared my enthusiasm for my new toy.
At Showroom Mama opening. How can a heart break not be sentimental anyway?
Tim was this happy about the opening of the new Showroom MAMA exhibition he's been involved in organizing and also taking part in as an artist.
Conxa getting a bit fed up of me taking pictures. Gràcies Conxa per ser tant entusiasta amb la compra de la càmera i no dir-me que sóc una pesada el divendres, que se que si que ho vaig ser. Que si que contenta estoy con mi cámara, una y otra vez.
The greatest feature of my new camera is it's lense, with an aperture of 1.8.
Look how happy everyone is about me not complaining anymore about not having a camera! Click on this image for a larger view. Do you see any noise on it because of the photo being taken in a dark space? No you don't. We can thank the 1.8 aperture for that.

My old (and broken) Panasonic has served it's purpose and has satisfied my needs for the past years. Let's have 10 seconds of silence for it.

I feel it all.

Love that little mischievous glance at the beginning and how she runs off and boom, the guitar.

How awesome is it that this whole video is one single take, no cuts? Also: I guess they had to get it right the first time they filmed, unless they had trucks and trucks of fireworks to rehearse with.
